What insurance agent likes to cold call? Personally, I’d rather live in a van by the river than cold call. Really! I imagine that I dislike dialing hundreds of numbers of intruding on businesses about as much as the businessmen like to be disturbed by an unscheduled call! But when I can obtain warm leads that initiate the sales process, life is good!
Does your brokerage expect you to cold call from the yellow pages, knock on businesses doors, or contact 50 of your best friends in order to introduce them to the insurance products you sell? How does that work out for you?
Insurance agents always knew that the best leads came from form data or incoming calls. If people went to the trouble to take some action to initiate contact, then they were very warm leads! With the advent of the internet, we know have millions of more affluent and more educated consumers who are able to reasearch online! When a potential client searches for insurance products, comes to a form, and then takes a few minutes to fill it out, that client is very warm to burning hot!
